TYUT-12 Powder Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs)

A pillared-layered MOF designated as TYUT-12,  has demonstrated enhanced adsorptive selectivity for propane (C3H8), propylene (C3H6), ethane (C2H6), acetylene (C2H2), and carbon dioxide (CO2) over ethylene (C2H4). It attributed to its tailored pore geometry and functional group manipulation. The adsorptive selectivity  of C2H6  to  C2H4  for TYUT-12 reaches as high as 4.56. Breakthrough experiment proved that TYUT-12 is capable of directly extracting  C2H4  with a purity exceeding 99.95% from binary, ternary, quaternary, and hexane light hydrocarbon mixtures.

TYUT-12 is a MOF with pillar-layered structure of Ni(BTC)(DMF)2. This MOF exhibits exceptional adsorption selectivity towards gases such as C3H8, C3H6, C2H6, C2H2, and CO2 over C2H4, due to its precise design of pore geometry and the regulation of functional group. Notably, the selectivity ratio for C2H6 over C2H4 reaches as high as 4.56. TYUT-12 is not only in its high adsorption selectivity for specific gases but also in its potential to separate C2H4 from complex mixtures. The results of breakthrough experiment indicated that TYUT-12 can directly extract C2H4 with a purity of over 99.95% from light hydrocarbon mixtures containing binary, ternary, quaternary, and hexene components. Its innovative design and proven performance make it a promising candidate for future applications in gas separation technologies, particularly in the petrochemical sector, where it introduces a novel, efficient, and eco-friendly approach to olefin separation within the petrochemical sector.
